Big Sur, California

The sparsely populated and thus romantically isolated aura of Big Sur makes it a top spot for a romantic getaway vacation. Experience stunning ocean views, awe-inspiring trees, and windswept vistas in this unspoiled region. You can hike and mountain climb in one of nine state parks, or stroll along the scenic beaches. Big Sur is also only a short drive away from the picturesque towns of Monterey and Carmel. If you want to do the big splurge for your vacation, Post Ranch Inn, perched above the Pacific, is the place to stay. The rooms and ocean houses are luxurious and breathtakingly romantic. You and your significant other will be in the heart of the South, so indulge in its gracious and gothic charms. Make sure you sample some classic soul food like hoecake cornbread, fried chicken, and macaroni and cheese at The Lady & Sons or laze away the day over a coffee and pastry at The Sentient Bean, a sweet coffee shop and café, located at the south end of Forsyth Park, Savannah's largest open space.
